Napoli tell Man United the three players they would be interested in swapping for Victor Osimhen

TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Victor Osimhen in January and Napoli are open to a player exchange deal.

Osimhen is currently on loan at Galatasaray and is having a superb season in the Turkish Super Lig scoring nine times in 11 matches for the Lions.

But, his time in Turkey could be coming to a close with sources revealing to TBR Football that several Premier League clubs have been made aware of the 25-year-old’s availability on a permanent deal in January.

Napoli tell Manchester United which players they want for Victor Osimhen

Manchester United have been approached with the chance to sign Victor Osimhen and the club’s footballing department, currently led by Joe Wilcox, are assessing their options, sources have told TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey.

Ruben Amorim’s start to life at Old Trafford has highlighted the need for a new number nine with Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee all struggling to make an impact.

Now, through intermediaries, United have been offered the chance to sign Osimhen, however, the Red Devils are not in a position to do a straight £60 million deal.

The other issue facing United in a potential deal for Osimhen is that Rashford, Zirkzee and Hojlund earn more than £500k a week combined, therefore, adding another £200k at least makes a move tricky.

There could be a way around that though as TBR Football has learned that Napoli would consider taking a player in exchange for the 25-year-old. The Italian club hold an interest in three United attackers.

Hojlund and Zirkzee are both of interest to Antonio Conte’s team having previously impressed in Serie A. The former did well at Atalanta, meanwhile, Zirkzee scored 12 goals in Italy’s top flight last term. Rashford is also available to leave Manchester and is a player the Azzurri admire.

Zirkzee, who only joined United in the summer, is also being linked to Juventus where his former boss Thiago Motta is in charge – but like with Napoli, first-team football will not be guaranteed.

Who else has been offered the chance to sign Victor Osimhen?

TBR Football can also confirm that Arsenal and Aston Villa have also been approached. Villa have been told that Napoli would happily take Jhon Duran in a deal for the striker.

Chelsea are long-term admirers of Osimhen and held talks in the summer. The Blues remain attentive to the situation but given the upturn in form of Nicolas Jackson, a striker is no longer a pressing issue for the West London club.
