Key Events Half time: Late tries give Wests Tigers the lead 38 minutes ago Team news: Eels vs Wests Tigers 1 hours ago Live updates: Eels vs Wests Tigers S By Simon Smale 56' Line drop out for the Eels S By Simon Smale Better from the Eels, as Sunia Turuva comes across to snuff out a little grubber through into the in goal.

But from the goal line drop out the Tigers are offside. That's a horrible penalty to give away and it's the Eels who have the ball on the Tigers 10. 47' The Tigers have another try! Or perhaps not... S By Simon Smale Or do they? Jeral Skelton thinks he's got it down, but that's brilliant from Isaiah Iongi to hold the Tigers winger up. The Tigers moved that ball nicely from the right to the left. It will be a goal line drop out but it should have been a try. 43' WESTS TIGERS BRING THE STYLE! S By Simon Smale Here we go! Wests Tigers were told at half time to keep playing football. And haven't they just! Jahrome Luai grubbers a kick through after skipping out of a tackle, the Eels can't get to the ball, it's picked up by Galvin, who kicks again and Jeral Skelton gathers and scores in the corner. Nicely done. A really nice try. Doueihi kicks the extras and it's 22-0 all of a sudden! 41' We're back underway in Parramatta S By Simon Smale Let's hope for a more entertaining and enterprising half than we got in the first period - that late try being the exception. A game of two halves, you say? S By Simon Smale Hello Simon, hoping for a big turn around by the Eels in the 2nd half - a game of two halves... - Mike If the second half is as bad as the first, I'm blogging something else. Half time: Late tries give Wests Tigers the lead S By Simon Smale (Getty Images) That's a great way to end the half for Wests Tigers. It was a woeful first quarter, error filled and lacking any real cohesion. But Sunia Turuva got the ball moving with a simple finish to a nice, basic passing move. Then Starford To'a made it two with a really nice finish, before Lachlan Galvin finished a sensational third to send the Tigers into the sheds by far the happier. 40' THE TIGERS SCORE A CRACKER! S By Simon Smale That's how you do it! (AAP Images) Jahream Bula fields a high bomb on his own try line and takes off!

He beats a couple of Eels and passes wide to Adam Doueihi. Doueihi takes off down the line and is closed down. But then he kicks inside, the ball bounces up nicely for Lachlan Galvin, one of three Tigers winning the chase infield. He dots down and scores a spectacular try. The kick is good and the Wests Tigers lead 16-0! 36' That's a try for the Wests Tigers! S By Simon Smale It gets even worse for the Eels! Starford To'a sees a bit of space and takes a gamble, charging into the line and I think he's kept his legs up! This is a sensational finish from To'a! As Isaiah Iongi slid to try and tackle him, his arm has kept To'a's boots and lower legs off the turf. The Eels fans are furious but I think that's a good call. It's 8-0 to the Tigers! This time Adam Doueihi nails a great kick to make it 10-0! 35' Eels come close again S By Simon Smale Ryley Smith is held up over the line now for the Eels. He was battling really hard to try and get the ball down. And they've sent it upstairs. It's ruled as a loose carry - things not happening for the Eels so far today. At last we have try S By Simon Smale Arvo Simon ! I'm relying on you and you alone for the NRL while I've the Melbourne GP on the telly in the other room and dinner prep in the 'galley'. Have a good one. - Old timer Well, I'm glad I have something to update you on at last, Old timer. 27' The Tigers cross the line! S By Simon Smale Good finish from the Tigers out side. Nice hands, slick passing, Koroisau to Luai to Galvin to Bula and then Sunia Turuva crashes between two Eels to score. The Tigers lead 4-0. The kick is well wide and that's how it remains. Both teams have completion rates below 70 per cent, there have been 13 errors but at last we have something to get interested in. 24' Little bit of a scuffle S By Simon Smale The two teams come together and just have a little push and shove. At least they are willing to do that to entertain the crowd, because there's been precious little else to get excited about in the opening 24 minutes of this game. 23' Eels held up over the line S By Simon Smale This is much better from Parramatta. The defensive line is hitting the Tigers hard and they force (another) error. The Eels move the ball to the left. Then Hands tried to go himself from dummy half and was held up. 17' Another error as Parramatta drops the ball over the line S By Simon Smale Jahrome Luai does well with the tackle, but it's yet another error as Jack Williams drops the ball with the line begging. Brown looked sharp and the pass was a really nice one to Williams. But yeah, there's no fluency at all out there at the moment. 15' We've already had six errors so far in this game S By Simon Smale (Getty Images) I am going to leave this stat here without comment. 14' Jack Williams on report S By Simon Smale Williams is a little bit lucky to avoid a sin bin there. He's planted his shoulder right on the forehead of Api Koroisau. It's a penalty and he's on report. 11' Wests Tigers very sluggish in attack S By Simon Smale (Getty Images) Blimey, a couple of repeat sets and Wests Tigers do precisely nothing with the opportunity while camped on the Eels line. It was all just first-receiver runs and hit ups with an imagination level comparable to a dictionary. Benji Marshall said pre-game the team were a little bit shonky still, but that was really poor execution. 5' Jarome Luai pinged for getting a bit handsy with Zac Lomax S By Simon Smale Interesting. Luai was just a bit eager there to keep the hand on the throat of Lomax. Quite justifiably, Lomax has a little swipe at the former Panther. who is pinged for holding down. Luai just asks Grant Atkins whether Lomax should be penalised for his reaction and is told to go away very dismissively by the referee. 1' Kick off in Parramatta S By Simon Smale It's very, very warm. The game is underway and the Eels have the first use of the ball. Show more posts
