'No way that's right' - Gary Neville can't believe what he's seen about LiverpoolManchester United Gary Neville remains dismissive of Liverpool's chances of winning the Premier League this seasonGary Neville speaks on the latest edition of the Stick to Football podcast (Image: Stick to Football )Liverpool’s incredible start to the season has already made Manchester United legend Gary Neville perform one U-turn in recent months. The Reds have won 15 of their 17 matches to date under Arne Slot, and lead both the Premier League and Champions League tables as a result. With their domestic rivals dropping points in recent weeks, Liverpool boast a five-point advantage over second-placed Manchester City and are at least nine points clear of the rest of the teams in the English top-flight.Consequently, having initially predicted that the Reds would fail to even qualify for the Champions League this year, following Jurgen Klopp’s exit, Neville has already ended up with egg on his face.Admittedly, he has now been forced into second thoughts on his premature claim. But that doesn’t mean he has bought into the notion of Liverpool winning the Premier League this season.Neville has admitted that it ‘blew his mind’ to see the Reds tipped as now having a 60% chance of finishing the campaign as champions, insisting that such a figure cannot be right.“Last night I got stopped in my tracks because I was on Instagram and I saw Sky Sports post out a title probability percentage,” said Neville on The Overlap’s Stick to Football, brought to you by Sky Bet.“It blew my mind actually. I was mesmerised. Liverpool 60% most likely to win the title, City 34%, Arsenal 4.9% chance. I was like there is no way that’s right.“Arsenal at 4% and Liverpool at 60%, I just don’t feel that probability is right at this moment in time. I know it’s been different in the last few years but that’s because of Pep and we are not talking about a Pep season here.“15 or 20 years ago, we would have been saying chill out everyone, everyone is writing Arsenal off, saying they have a must-win game and City are out of it. I just thought wow.“Then I saw another stat that there are only five teams who have ever been this far in front at this stage of the season and they have all won the league.”
