The UK police have started its probe into Pakistani cricketer Haider Ali's case involving rape allegations. The incident took place on 23rd July at a premises in Manchester during the Pakistan A team's tour of England, according to officials.

The Pakistan Cricket Board provisionally suspended him for the duration of the criminal investigation and stated, “The PCB has been made aware of a criminal investigation currently being conducted by the Greater Manchester Police involving cricketer Haider Ali. The investigation pertains to an incident that reportedly occurred during the Pakistan Shaheens' recent tour of England.”

Who is Haider Ali? Haider, 24, made his first-class debut in September 2019. 2. His international debut for the Pakistan cricket team came on 1 September 2020.

3. Due to his compact batting technique, strong off-side play, solid defensive skills, effective pull shots, he has often been compared to Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma who is reportedly the role model for Haider.

4. In December 2019, he was selected by Peshawar Zalmi in the Supplementary category during the 2020 Pakistan Super League (PSL) draft.

5. On 10 March 2020, he became the youngest player in PSL history to score a half-century.

6. Ali was selected for Pakistan's squads for the England and West Indies tours in June, 2021.

7. However, on 24 June 2021, he was removed from the squads after breaching the bio-secure bubble during the 2021 PSL tournament.

8. He was named vice-captain of the Pakistan Shaheens for their Sri Lanka tour in October, 2021.

9. In August 2022, Ali earned a spot in Pakistan's squad for the Asia Cup 2022.
