Babar surpasses Kohli in T20 cricket

Former Pakistan white-ball captain Babar Azam has now secured the second spot in the list of all-time leading run-scorers in men's T20Is, overtaking India's Virat Kohli.

This achievement came after Babar Azam's 41-run performance in the final T20I clash against Australia in Hobart.

The 30-year-old has now accumulated 4,192 runs, surpassing Kohli's tally of 4,188 runs. Rohit Sharma remains at the top with 4,231 runs, and Babar is just 40 runs away from breaking this record.

Notably, the right-hand batter is now one of only two Pakistani batters in the top 10 of T20I run-scorers, alongside Mohammad Rizwan who has scored 3329 runs in the shorter-format.

Salman Agha opens up after Pak defeat in T20I series

Pakistan's stand-in captain, Salman Ali Agha, has expressed his thoughts following the team's 3-0 whitewash defeat in the T20I series against Australia, culminating in a crushing loss in the third and final T20I in Hobart.

During the post-match presentation, Agha reflected on the series, acknowledging Pakistan's struggles throughout the T20 format.

"I think in the middle overs we didn't capitalize the start, we lost too many wickets. Lots of positives, the way some of the players batted and bowled, these youngsters will come good. It's a big achievement for us to win a One Day series here after 22 years, could've done better in the T20 series but we'll come back stronger. They have been amazing," Agha said.

The T20I series followed a positive start to Pakistan's tour of Australia, with the team securing a historic 2-1 win in the ODI series, their first ODI series victory in Australia in 22 years.

Shehzad calls for wholesale changes

In the aftermath of Pakistan's disheartening T20I series defeat to Australia, opening batter Ahmed Shehzad expressed his frustration over the team's performance, particularly in the third and final match in Hobart.

Taking to social media platform X, Shehzad called for significant changes to the squad. He urged selectors to prioritize younger talent from the domestic circuit ahead of the upcoming series against South Africa.

"This team needs a revamp, Senior players who are baggage on the team must be replaced. Getting whitewashed by this Australian side is shameful, horrible and embarrassing to say the least," he said.
