The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was said to be having problems with the renovation of the stadiums with reports suggesting that the entire Champions Trophy will be moving to Dubai as the stadiums in Pakistan might not be ready before the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 tournament which is to start on the 19th of February.This was set to be the first ICC event to take place in Pakistan after the 1996 ODI World Cup, which will also be co-hosted by Dubai as per the hybrid model. Though the rumours of the Champions Trophy switching venues were spreading, the PCB had squashed the rumours regarding this particular development where an official of the board had revealed that the matches will be held as per schedule and the venues will be ready. The source further brought up that people who were spreading the news were tarnishing the image of the nation.“All the work [related to stadiums] will be done by the first week of February. Pakistan will successfully host the Champions Trophy. No need to go by any rumours. We are committed to give our best. There are people who are trying to tarnish Pakistan’s image on social media. We know who all they are and why they are doing this,” the PCB official said as quoted by Gulf News.Pakistan’s upcoming scheduleSpeaking of Pakistan’s upcoming Test series against West Indies which will be starting tomorrow where the first Test which was scheduled to be played in Multan will now be played in Islamabad. This will be the first time in 18 years that the West Indies will be playing a Test match in Pakistan.The next series that they will be preparing is for the trie series which will also include New Zealand and South Africa which will start on the eighth of February and finish on the 14th of February. This could also be a great way to prepare for the upcoming ICC event as well.
