Pakistan captain Fatima Sana called 'besharam' as ugly act towards Shafali Verma leads to fierce criticism

The Indian women's cricket team presented another instance of absolute dominance over Pakistan, who hit a new low in women T20Is. In the much-anticipated fixture between the arch-rivals at the ongoing Women's Asia Cup in Dubai, the unit led by Harmanpreet Kaur were right on money as the contest got virtually over even before India walked out to bat in the second innings.

Pakistan, who won the toss and opted to bat, were bundled out for 55 in 18.1 overs, marking it as their lowest total in women T20Is. Barring openers Muneeba Ali and Shawaal Zulfiqar none of the other Pakistan batters could reach double digits, while four even failed to open their account. Their captain Fatima Sana was among the four, getting trapped LBW against seasoned all-rounder Deepti Sharma for seven-ball duck.

After the Indian spinners ran riot at the Dubai International Stadium on Saturday, the batters completed the formalities in just 8.4 overs with skipper Harmanpreet Kaur closing the contest with an authoritative six.

Despite the target being a paltry 56, the Indian team did experience initial jitters, and Fatima was at the center during all of it. The pacer struck thrice in two overs to give India some nervy moment before Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma steadied the ship.

However, her unwanted aggression towards Shafali Verma led to fierce criticism online. After dismissing the Indian opener caught and bowled for 12(6), Fatima gave her a send-off. Her act didn't go well with fans as Pakistan had already surrendered making the rivalry more of a lopsided affair.

Meanwhile, India had already secured their place in the semifinals of the tournament after winning the first two group stage matches and the latest outcome helped them end it with a perfect record. They will now next be in action on Thursday.
