Sri Lanka wins toss and bats in 2nd ODI vs India

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (AP) — Sri Lanka captain Charith Asalanka won the toss and elected to bat first in the second one-day international against India at R. Premadasa Stadium on Sunday.

Sri Lanka will look to improve on their performance in the series opener in which they pulled off a thrilling tie last Friday while India will look to live up to their standard as a top team after a lacklustre show against a struggling home side.

Sri Lanka’s leading stroke bowler Wanindu Hasaranga has been left out of the series after a hamstring injury suffered in the first game. Jeffry Vandersay, another leg spin bowler, takes his place.

Sri Lanka also strengthened their batting by adding Kamindu Mendis in place of fast bowler Mohamed Shiraz.

India is fielding an unchanged team.
