Who is the best male tennis player in the world?

Based on the numbers of the ATP singles rankings, Jannik Sinner holds that accolade as the world No. 1, returning to the summit in April 2026.

The Italian has the seventh-longest streak (65 weeks) as the top-ranked men's singles player, which he set from June 2024 to September 2025. He became the first man to win five consecutive ATP Masters 1000 tournaments with victory in Madrid.

Sinner currently has the edge over rival Carlos Alcaraz, the seven-time Grand Slam champion who completed the career Grand Slam at this year's Australian Open. Alcaraz, 23, is facing a down period as a wrist injury will keep the reigning Roland-Garros champion sidelined for the French Open.

Olympic gold medallist Alexander Zverev remains world No. 3, while fellow Olympic champion Novak Djokovic sits right behind with the fewest tournaments played of the top 15.
