Everton takeover on verge of completion with Farhad Moshiri now in advanced talks

Everton are finally set to learn their takeover fate, after months and months of speculation.

Naturally, John Textor always seemed to be the frontrunner, especially with his vocal admiration for the Toffees.

His desire was well-documented, but so too were the hurdles he had to overcome.

In his efforts to sell his Crystal Palace shares, a feat that has not proven as easy as he might have liked, it has allowed time for another rival to swoop in.

And now, it seems that rival has won the race…

Dan Friedkin closing in on Everton takeover

Although Dan Friedkin re-entered the race for Everton only recently, he has clearly moved fast.

That is, despite having effectively agreed to a deal months ago before walking away.

His return shocked many, but hopefully this means that his interest is true, with Bloomberg continuing their phenomenal reporting of the saga.

They now write: ‘US billionaire Dan Friedkin is closing in on a takeover of Everton FC, the Premier League team that has been struggling to find a buyer, according to people familiar with the situation.

‘Friedkin and Everton owner Farhad Moshiri are in advanced stages to strike a deal, the people said, which would bring an end to months of uncertainty at the Liverpool-based football team.

‘Everton is 94% owned by Moshiri, who has invested heavily in the club. Representatives for Everton and the Friedkin Group declined to comment.’

A light at the end of the tunnel for Everton

At last, after so much turmoil, it finally seems like this tiring saga will come to a conclusion.

It’s been a long time coming, and has seen various figures all take the lead in the race during various periods.

At first, it was 777 Partners, and fortunately their unsuitability was revealed long before they assumed control.

Next up came Friedkin, before Textor then emerged as a really serious suitor.

Now, with the billionaire owner of AS Roma set to win the race, Everton will join his footballing umbrella with a brighter future hopefully ahead.

The success he has already earned with the Italian outfit is there for all to see, both in wiping out their debts and winning them a European trophy.

If he can achieve half as much success on Merseyside, he will be worshipped by Evertonians.
