Ayr beat Thistle 1-0 at Firhill on Tuesday to hold the advantage coming into tonight's quarter-final second leg.

But prior to the game at Somerset Park, fans of both sides were seen facing off on residential streets.

It's not clear what sparked the conflict, but supporters from both sides can be seen yelling at each other from across the street.

A large number of police officers eventually stepped between the two groups.

A few loud sirens can be heard in the background as the fans are kept apart.

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.

Thistle wiped out Ayr's first-leg advantage early on, as talisman Brian Graham converted from close range to make it 1-1 on aggregate.

And they completed the comeback when Graham struck again late on, sparking wild scenes and a pitch invasion.

Meanwhile, Celtic supporter group the Green Brigade have been informed by the club that they WON'T be allowed to display a tifo during their team's match against Hibs.

They said it was due to existing sanctions for displays made earlier this season.

Celtic legend Scott Brown returns to playing for one-off match

They posted on X, formerly Twitter: "Unfortunately, the club has refused tomorrow’s NCC tifo.

"This is a continued sanction due to the Green Brigade’s ‘Red Card’ and Bik McFarlane tifos.

"Despite repeated attempts, the club has refused to meet with the Green Brigade since November 2023."
