Ghana will host the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Sub-Regional Qualifier B tournament from March 24 to March 29, 2026, marking a major milestone in the development of cricket in the country.The six-day tournament will feature six teams—host nation Ghana, Malawi, St Helena, Eswatini, Seychelles, and Tanzania—competing for a place in the next stage of the global cricket pathway.In a statement signed by Emmanuel Asare, President of the Ghana Cricket Association, the federation said the competition will be played in a round-robin format, with each team facing the others once.He explained that at the end of the group stage, the top two teams will advance to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Regional Qualifier, a critical step toward qualification for the 2028 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.All matches will be held at the Achimota Cricket Ovals A and B within Achimota School in Accra.Mr Asare expressed confidence that the tournament would deliver high-quality cricket and further elevate the profile of the sport across the continent. He described the event as an opportunity to showcase the best of African cricket talent.He also called on cricket fans and sports enthusiasts to come out in large numbers to support the national team as Ghana hosts the regional competition.
