EA FC 25 players furious as server downtime lasts longer than expected

The first planned server downtime of EA FC 25 has not gone to plan. EA FC 25 servers are still down, and players are furious.

EA Sports announced a huge update will be coming to EA FC 25 today, with the Frost Update being so big, it's required downtime for EA FC 25 servers, as well as EA FC 24 and FIFA 23. Although EA initially stated that the downtime would be finished at 11am GMT / 6am EST / 3am PST today, EA has since confirmed via a tweet that EA FC 25 servers are still unavailable, leaving players extremely annoyed, and for good reason.

WithDivision Rivals rewards going live tomorrow, players usually use today as a time to grind out their final few wins and earn the final points needed to claim these rewards, which also include EA FC 25 Mode Mastery Swaps-like tokens. But, with the servers still down, this isn't possible, and it's fair to say that the feedback from the Ultimate Team community has not been very pleasant.

EA FC 25's reputation has already taken quite a battering since its release, and with the free-to-play football game UFL set to be released tomorrow, now is not the time for EA to be annoying its player base.

EA FC 25 players react furiously to server downtime

Players are understandably furious with EA, and social media is full of players reacting angrily to the extended maintenance. Twitter users are particularly angry, with user @adixx55327 tweeting "ITS BEEN 7 HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!" as a reply to the official @EAHelp Tweet.

@sb42704 replied with the ambitious hope of getting something in return, tweeting "EA should just give everyone full points in Rivals". Another user, @TheBeardBro, tweeted, "It been more than 6 hours, and we need to Grind the Rivals today. Good Job EA probably picked the worst time to do it. You could have easily done it since midnight UTC" in reply, venting frustration at the time chosen to complete the maintenance.

Another Twitter user @CristoStoich simply replied "Only 14.99$" with a GIF of the UFL cover art, demonstrating that players are getting annoyed, and with other football games out there now, players could start to try something else out instead, but they'll have to for the next few hours at least!
