Flowers' hamstring injury 'not considered serious'

Garafolo’s colleague, Ian Rapoport, adds that Lane will be sidelined for “several weeks.” This is an unfortunate development for both the player and the team. Fellow Ravens WR Zay Flowers aggravated the hamstring injury he recently rehabbed as well. Expect rookie WR Elijah Sarratt to be active in Week 2 against the Saints.

Florio adds that Flowers is currently considered questionable to play in Week 2 against the Saints. The Ravens’ No. 1 wide receiver “tweaked” the same hamstring that he spent the last two weeks rehabbing. He caught 5-of-6 targets for 150 yards and one touchdown before exiting today, thriving in OC Declan Doyle’s new scheme. Hopefully, Flowers can make a quick, successful recovery and return to form before long.

Flowers put in more than a day’s worth of work in the first half of Sunday’s game. He opened the game with a 49-yard reception that fell just two yards shy of a touchdown, but found the end zone in the second quarter when he burst upfield for a 54-yard score to put the Ravens up 21-6. Flowers’ day officially ends with a 5-150-1 line on six targets. Flowers was dealing with this hamstring injury entering Sunday’s game, but hopefully it won’t keep him on the sidelines for Week 2’s game against the Saints.

Flowers has been dealing with a hamstring injury, but that didn’t appear to slow him early on. In one half of play, Flowers has caught five passes for 150 yards and one touchdown, and had receptions of 49 and 54 yards. We’ll see if Flowers can return in the second half, but if not, Lamar Jackson will have Rashod Bateman and Ja’Kobi Lane as his top two receivers the rest of the way.

Flowers kicked off the week with a limited session before upgrading to full participation on Thursday and Friday. Ravens QB Lamar Jackson has expressed excitement about new OC Declan Doyle’s offensive scheme, which is set to feature Flowers as the top target earner. Treat him as a WR2 this week.

This is great news. The Ravens’ No. 1 wide receiver should be good to go for fantasy football WR2 duties against the Colts on Sunday. Flowers should log another full session tomorrow, barring a setback. He told reporters yesterday that he is feeling “better than ever.” That now appears to be the case.

For the record, Flowers told reporters that he is feeling “great” earlier today, but opted not to disclose his injury details. Now we know he is dealing with a soft tissue issue. Flowers is on track to play, but as is always the case with hamstrings, his practice participation is worth tracking. Ideally, he is practicing fully by Friday and can be treated as a WR2 on game day.

Flowers was asked how he was feeling today while meeting with the press, with a beat reporter specifically asking Flowers about his quad. Flowers suffered a quad bruise early in training camp and missed time last week with an undisclosed injury. Now feeling “better than ever,” Flowers is seemingly on track to play in Week 1 against the Colts without issue.

Flowers suffered a quad bruise early in training camp but eventually returned to practice. He has been out of practice more recently with an undisclosed lower-body issue. His injuries have seemed relatively minor, and an appearance at practice today all but confirms that. Barring a setback, Flowers should be good to go as a high-end WR2 for Baltimore’s Week 1 opener versus the Colts.
