Arne Slot's telling dressing room reaction after Liverpool were beaten by Man Utd

Arne Slot has not been immune to the scrutiny and criticism that he has faced after Liverpool's worst start to a season in four years and he has maintained a calm and relaxed attitude

Despite overseeing a fourth consecutive defeat Liverpool manager Arne Slot maintained his composure in the dressing room on Sunday, marking the club's worst run of results since 2014.

The Dutchman, unaccustomed to losing matches during his debut season, has witnessed the Reds relinquish their top spot after three successive Premier League losses and a Champions League defeat. This marked the first time his team had been defeated at Anfield in the league for a year.

However, instead of expressing anger, Slot reportedly maintained a calm demeanour in the home dressing room, according to the Daily Mail. He is fully aware of the pressure to return to winning ways, amid constant questions arising from a significant summer spending spree.

His success in the Premier League means there are no concerns about his position, and the former Feyenoord boss, currently facing the biggest challenge of his Liverpool career, continues to adhere to the principles that have served him well.

Even while away on the international break, when he travelled to Dubai for some sunshine, the Liverpool manager was believed to have spent most of his time contemplating the pressing matters facing his side. He was analysing countless video clips on his laptop in a bid to halt their decline.

Slot peruses Dutch publication De Telegraaf each morning and tunes into talkSPORT while driving to training, but largely remains unaffected by critical coverage in the press, despite clearly being conscious of the storyline developing around him and his squad.

Slot has opted to reside outside Liverpool city centre - the primary reason being so he can enjoy a more peaceful existence, removed from the constant stream of commentary. He insists that he's been confronting obstacles since his arrival - initially securing victories, then managing the Jurgen Klopp comparisons and now ending this losing streak.

He said: "I think as a manager you face constantly challenges. When I just started, you face the challenge of being a new manager and then you need to win games. Then when you do well you go to a bigger club and people are like, 'Oh, let's see how he does over there.' Then you go to be the successor of Jürgen Klopp and people say this is the biggest challenge you ever faced.

"Now we have lost four times in a row and that's also a challenge. So, the life of a football manager is an ongoing challenge. If you win games you want to keep winning, if you lose games you want to start winning again."
