The Real Madrid Manager Criticizes the Lack of Resolution in the Negreira Case

Álvaro Arbeloa, Real Madrid's interim manager, didn't hold back this Saturday regarding the Negreira Case, which he defined as 'the most serious scandal in the history of Spanish football.

I believe no one understands how such an important matter remains unresolved. This should be a concern for many," Arbeloa stated during the pre-match press conference ahead of the clash with Valencia.

His comments came after being asked about the testimony of former Barcelona president Joan Gaspart, who appeared as a witness in the investigation regarding payments made by the club to companies linked to José María Enríquez Negreira, the former refereeing official.

The former defender also addressed Barcelona's recent exit from the Super League, a move that leaves Florentino Pérez's Real Madrid isolated and further strains the relationship between the two clubs.

Regarding squad planning and the recent two-day break, Arbeloa defended the coaching staff's work. 'The planning is designed to prepare the players in the best possible way. Antonio Pintus is key, and no one doubts his work,' he explained.

The manager admitted that the team is still far from its best form. 'Great teams require many automatisms and a shared mindset; that is achieved through hard work. This week we focused on improving in every aspect. We are far from our ceiling,' he added.

Additionally, he highlighted the potential of young talent Franco Mastantuono: 'He is a boy with a lot of talent. He can play out wide, he has the ability to beat his man, power, and intensity. Arriving at Real Madrid is not easy, but you can see his quality right away,' he noted.
