After a little more than a week without Donald Trump being mentioned in a "World Cup context," the President of the United States took center stage again. It happened this past Friday, after an event with Gianni Infantino and other football officials at Trump Tower in New York. Infantino confirmed what was already expected: Trump will sit next to him in the VIP box and will be present to hand the trophy to the winners, as he did at last year's Club World Cup.

'"It turned out we were a soccer country," Trump said after receiving praise from Infantino for hosting a World Cup that, in commercial terms and stadium attendance, has been an overwhelming success. The president, however, wants more... and suggested that the United States should have another chance to host the tournament, but "this time we'll leave out Mexico and Canada.
