Virat Kohli's Intense Chat With Sanath Jayasuriya Amidst DRS Controversy Goes Viral (Source: X)KEY HIGHLIGHTS Kohli-Jayasuriya were involved in an intense chat.Kohli survived a controversial DRS call.Sri Lanka beat India by 32 runs.Indian batters' struggles against quality spinners are not new and Sri Lanka exploited the weakness to perfection in friendly conditions to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. India dominated both the games played so far, however, the end result did not go their way. The first ODI between the two teams ended as a tie while the Rohit Sharma -led side suffered a heavy 32 run defeat in the second match. The second ODI followed a similar pattern to the first ODI where the Indian middle order crumbled like a pack of cards against the quality Sri Lanka spinners despite the openers adding a 50+ stand. A 97-run partnership for the first wicket in a chase of 241 in most games would be match-winning, but that was not the case for India in the second ODI. They lost wickets in clusters and were soon reduced to 147-6, once again resting hopes on Axar Patel, who played well for 44 but could not get India over the line. The constant failures of Virat Kohli , KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer have put India in a spot of bother. Kohli, especially, was expected to steamroll Sri Lanka, given his recent form and dominant record against the Islanders, but he has been a flop in the two matches. He was lucky to survive a close DRS call but could not make it big and was dismissed for a mere 14.During the 15th over, Kohli was adjudged LBW to Akila Dananjaya, however, the decision was overturned after the DRS showed a little spike as the ball passed his bat. It was a debatable call as many felt that Kohli did not hit the ball. The Sri Lanka camp, including interim coach Sanath Jayasuriya , was fuming over the call.Meanwhile, Jayasuriya stopped Kohli during the post-match handshake and the veterans had an intense chat. It is not clear what they talked about but it did look a friendly chat as both patted each other's shoulders and moved on.India will need a quick turnaround to save the series. The final ODI between the two teams will be played on August 7.
