Senegal and Morocco, the two highest-ranked football teams from their continent, will meet in the final of the African Cup of Nations 2025-26 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, Rabat on Sunday.

The Senegal vs Morocco football match will start at 12:30 AM Indian Standard Time (IST) on Monday, January 19. The AFCON 2026 final will be available on live streaming in India.

Organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the AFCON is a biennial international men's football tournament.

World No. 19 Senegal entered the knockout stage after topping Group D with seven points from three matches.

They beat Sudan 3-1 in the pre-quarterfinals and Mali 1-0 in the quarters to set up a clash with record seven-time champions Egypt in the semi-finals, which they edged 1-0.

Pape Gueye and Chérif Ndiaye lead Senegal’s scoring charts with two goals apiece, while talisman Sadio Mané has been the chief creator, topping the assist list with three. Mané also struck the decisive winner against Egypt in the semi-final.

Senegal have conceded just twice in the ongoing tournament and will be looking to secure just their second AFCON title, having previously won the 2021 edition of the competition after edging Egypt in a penalty shootout.

Hosts Morocco, the top-ranked African football team at world No. 11, will have the additional boost of their home support in the final.

Morocco topped Group A with seven points from three matches before beating Tanzania 1-0 in the pre-quarterfinals, defeating Cameroon 2–0 in the quarters and edging past Nigeria 4-2 on penalties in the semis.

They have conceded just once in AFCON 2025-26 and Real Madrid attacker Brahim Díaz is the tournament’s leading scorer with five goals.

Like Senegal, Morocco will be targeting their second AFCON title, having last won the continental trophy in 1976.

Morocco and Senegal have squared off 31 times in the past, with the Atlas Lions winning 18 times. Senegal have beaten Morocco on seven occasions, while six matches between the teams have ended in draws.
