Ex-Premier League star filmed calling Liverpool player a '****' off-camera in shock clipKevin Doyle was covering the Republic of Ireland's dramatic World Cup qualifier win over Hungary for RTE's coverage, but he made an unedifying message in an off-camera rantFormer Wolves and Reading forward Kevin Doyle has reportedly taken a swipe at Liverpool's star Dominik Szoboszlai following the Republic of Ireland's thrilling victory over Hungary on Sunday. The 42 year old, who was on duty for local broadcaster RTE Sports, was caught on camera whirling around the studio in jubilation before gesturing towards what is believed to be a television showing the match, and labelling the Hungarian captain a: "Liverpool c***."Troy Parrott clinched his hat-trick in a dramatic style, keeping Ireland's World Cup aspirations alive. The ex-Tottenham Hotspur striker scored in the 96th-minute, securing Heimir Hallgrímsson's team a spot in the playoffs as they rallied from 2-1 down to win 3-2.READ MORE : Dominik Szoboszlai in tears after Liverpool pair see World Cup dream dramatically ruinedREAD MORE : Mohamed Salah vs Bukayo Saka decision made as Liverpool star told he has to changeIreland's unexpected triumph over Portugal earlier this week ensured they had a sliver of hope going into Sunday's clash in Budapest.Parrott netted twice in 16 minutes to complete the comeback and propel them into Thursday's playoff draw, where they could face teams such as Wales, Slovakia, Scotland, Czechia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania and Kosovo.RTE Sport's X account shared an edited version of Doyle joyously sprinting around the studio, but the full scenes after the thrilling win were captured off-camera and posted on social media platform X by user @Liam_D79, which shows Doyle darting around the studio before gesturing towards the Liverpool midfielder with an X-rated message.Doyle appears to say: "Suck on that you Liverpool c***," before apologising to former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann, who was also a pundit for their coverage. The 42-year-old hung up his boots in 2017 following a spell with Colorado Rapids in Major League Soccer, before transitioning into punditry work alongside pursuing his interest in horse racing. The 25-year-old Reds midfielder set up Daniel Lukacs for the opening goal within five minutes, before his Liverpool teammate Milos Kerkez provided the assist for Barnabas Varga's strike that put them back in front following Parrott's penalty equaliser.Szoboszlai was devastated at the final whistle after the defeat in the capital ended their hopes of reaching the playoffs. Speaking to local media afterwards, he struggled to articulate his disappointment, managing only: "Very much," when asked how much his heart aches following the loss.Republic of Ireland hero Troy Parrott was similarly overcome with emotion, though for entirely different reasons after his match-winning hat-trick. He told RTE: "Yeah I'm eh...really really emotional right now...sorry."They're tears of joy. What a night. What a night."I'd rather have that pressure on me and whatever happens will happen, that to put it on somebody else and leave it out of my hands."I can't believe it. I really can't believe it. This is why we love football because things like this can happen."Look Tony, I love where I'm from. So this means the world to me. My family is here...this is the first time I've cried in years as well. It's unbelievable."Everyone's crying. I said against Portugal that this is what dreams are made of but tonight, I don't think I'll ever have a better night in my whole life."It really is a fairytale. You can't even dream about something like that. Honestly, I have no words to describe the emotions right now."Everyone wrote us off at the start of the group. But I couldn't have said it enough, that there's always a chance. And we've taken the chance."Everyone should be proud of the group of players that are over there. To go down twice and come back like that, it's beautiful."RTE have been approached for comment.
