Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has expressed concerns over the team’s recent performance, stating that the consistent decline in Pakistan’s cricketing fortunes over the past two years is a result of not working in the right direction. He emphasized that without proper focus and a clear plan, the team would continue to spiral downwards.Speaking to the media in Lahore, Inzamam made it clear that frequent changes in the team’s management, coaches, and players would not resolve the underlying issues. He stressed the need for the board to come together and reflect on the mistakes being made."In the past two years, the performance of the Pakistan team has been on a decline. If we don’t work in the right direction, we will continue to fall further," said Inzamam. He continued, "Changing management, coaches, and players repeatedly will not solve the problem. We need to sit down and think about where the mistakes are being made."Inzamam also mentioned that constant changes would only undermine the confidence of the players."Instead of making too many changes, we need to think carefully about where things are going wrong. If there are constant changes, players won’t gain the confidence they need, and the situation will remain the same," he further added. The former captain also showed his faith in former captain Babar Azam, stating that he is a top player."Babar Azam is a top player. Everyone goes through a rough patch, but the national team hasn’t been playing good cricket for the past few months," Inzaman further said."Trust the management and the players, and work together to identify where the mistakes are," he further said.Inzamam also made it clear that the issue could not be fixed by changing coaches or players repeatedly."Changing coaches and players again and again will not solve the problem," he reiterated.Lastly, Inzamam emphasized that the players from the 1990s generation have been a cornerstone of Pakistan’s cricket strength."If we look at the players from the 90s generation, Pakistan cricket would lose its strength without them," he concluded.
