Suryakumar praised Gill’s intent and chemistry with Abhishek, describing their partnership as pure aggression. “They both are looking to match each other’s strike rates. It’s a combination of fire and fire,” said Suryakumar. “If the wicket is a bit difficult, it’s important to adapt. Today, the wicket was good, so they scored more than 50 in five overs. In the last game, it was important to read the wicket — and these two did just that. Gill showed great maturity. Both have good communication; they complement each other perfectly. ”

Abhishek, who was named Player of the Series for his 163 runs in five matches, echoed his captain’s sentiment, lauding Gill’s awareness and their long-standing bond. “It’s just fire and fire. We’ve been playing together since U-12 days, so there’s great understanding. I know which bowlers he’s targeting and vice versa. He also guides me on which shots to play,” Abhishek said.
