Liverpool team vs Leicester confirmed as Luis Diaz and Conor Bradley decisions made

Liverpool could win the Premier League title today if it beats Leicester City, though it would need Ipswich Town to pull off an unlikely comeback victory against Arsenal earlier in the day. And Arne Slot has named his starting XI at the King Power Stadium.

Alisson Becker is in goal with Conor Bradley at right-back. Trent Alexander-Arnold, who returned to training this week, is fit enough for the bench. Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk and Kostas Tsimikas make up the rest of the back four, with Andy Robertson on the bench again.

In midfield, Slot has picked Ryan Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister. That leaves Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott among the options from the sidelines, alongside Wataru Endo.

Mohamed Salah, who, like Van Dijk, has penned a new two-year contract recently, starts on the right of the Liverpool attack. Luis Diaz plays as the number nine with Cody Gakpo on the left and Diogo Jota on the bench.

Federico Chiesa misses out. He hasn't been seen since the Carabao Cup final. Darwin Nunez, who was ill and therefore missed out against West Ham United a week ago, returns to being a substitute.

"My thoughts are not on [winning the title on Sunday] at all," Slot insisted during his pre-game press conference. "My thoughts are, as always, on Leicester and on our team: how to improve, what can we do better.

"We couldn’t do many things better in the first half against West Ham but we could do a lot of things better in the second half. So, during the start of the week we have worked on that a lot and now we are working towards Leicester. One game at a time and influence the one we can influence, and that’s the Leicester game."

"The honest answer is no," he responded when later asked if he had given much thought to securing the Premier League crown. "I’m not sure you believe me but that is the honest answer.

"My whole life I’m living in the moment, in the day, and I’m not looking backwards a lot. I’m not looking forwards a lot because it’s the type of person that I am, that I am not constantly looking back at what I have achieved at former clubs.

"That is also so difficult in football, people constantly tell you, ‘Try to enjoy it, try to enjoy the whole journey,’ but the only thing you are thinking about as a manager is, 'Oh, at the weekend there is a game coming up as well and we need to win that and we need to win the next and we need to win the next'."
