Australian tennis has been given a major boost on the eve of the French Open after teenager Maya Joint powered to her first WTA Tour title in Morocco.Joint, 19, collapsed in joy following her 6-3, 6-2 win over Romanian Jaqueline Cristian on clay in the Rabat final."I'm really excited that I was able to win a title here, and hopefully it'll be the first of many," Joint said.Joint also won the doubles title with Georgian Oksana Kalashnikova in Rabat.US-born Joint is ranked 78 in the world but will enjoy a significant jump in the WTA standings.She could climb as high as 53 in the rankings.Joint will make her French Open debut, which commences in Paris on Sunday evening AEST.She will play fellow Australian Ajla Tomljanović in the first round.They faced each other in the Rabat semifinals, with Joint advancing when Tomljanović was forced to withdraw after the first set due to illness.They are among seven Australians in the women's main draw at the French Open.There are nine Australians contesting the men's singles in Paris, led by world number nine Alex de Minaur.AAP/ABC
