Geelong’s Executive General Manager – Football, Andrew Mackie, has provided a GMHBA Health Update ahead of the Round 2 clash against St Kilda at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night.

Jake Kolodjashnij

Groin, 2 weeks

As Chris Scott mentioned last week, we are taking a conservative approach with Jake in managing his groin soreness. He’s progressing well through his reconditioning program and we expect him to be available in a few weeks.

Xavier Ivisic

Ankle, 3-5 weeks

Xavier is progressing well and has started integrating back into football drills. He is expected to remain sidelined for the next three to five weeks.

Jed Bews

Finger, 7-11 weeks

Jed has commenced rehabilitation for his finger, and it is recovering well. We expect him to be back out there in the next seven to eleven weeks.

Jacob Molier & Lenny Hofmann

Hamstring, 1-3 weeks

Jacob and Lenny have both sustained hamstring injuries but are progressing well through their rehabilitation. They have both resumed training with the main group and will return over the next one to three weeks.

Keighton Matofai-Forbes

Management, 3-4 weeks

Keighton has had an interrupted month of training, so we have decided to prioritise an extended conditioning block to ensure his body is ready to withstand the full season.

Cameron Guthrie

Achilles, TBC

Cameron is continuing his rehabilitation and is responding well to his on-field work. As referenced last week, his return-to-play timeline is still to be confirmed.

Tanner Bruhn

Finger, TBC

Tanner will continue to wear a splint as he works his way back from a finger injury. A return-to-play timeline is still to be determined.

Toby Conway

Back, TBC

Toby is making good progress in his reconditioning block and joined the Captain’s Run last week. He will integrate into more football-based drills over the next fortnight. A timeline for his return will be determined after completing an appropriate pre-season load profile.

Mitch Edwards

Pelvis, TBC

Mitch has had low-level groin symptoms through the back end of pre-season. After an interrupted 2024, we have decided to take a conservative approach with his return to full training loads and prioritise development of his strength and overall conditioning before he returns.

He has started back modified training with the group, a return to play timeline is still to be determined.

Cillian Burke

Knee, Indefinite

Cillian arrived at the Club last year with a pre-existing and known cartilage injury in his left knee. We are taking a conservative and long-term approach to ensuring his body is ready to withstand the rigours of AFL football. He is a chance to feature in the second half of the season.
