With seven wickets in his tally, the 24 year old once again proved his authority in the limited over format.After the conclusion of the ODI series, Pakistan will be involved in a two-match Test series against the Proteas. Shaheen is not a part of the Test squad and now it has emerged the Pakistan pacer requested the management not to include him in the squad for the upcoming two Test matches against South Africa.As per a PTI report, Shaheen is preparing himself for the ICC Champions Trophy and has informed the Pakistan Cricket Board to not consider him for red-ball cricket until the completion of the Champions Trophy.Irrespective of their result in the two Test matches, Pakistan are not competing for a place in the World Test Championship final. A PCB source told PTI, "The truth is Shaheen himself requested he not be considered for Test matches until the Champions Trophy is over.”Pakistan interim coach and senior selector, Aaqib Javed already mentioned that the fast bowler's workload is being monitored in view of the upcoming Champions Trophy next year.The PTI report also stated that the pacer has also made his intentions known to take part in the upcoming season of the Bangladesh Premier League. He further assured the board that he would keep a check on his workload during the tournament to manage his fitness.The source further added, "He assured the management and board the money was very good and he would look after his fitness and workload during the event, so he should be permitted to play in the league."Shaheen said he would be fully fit in time for the tri-series ODIs against New Zealand and South Africa, followed by the Champions Trophy at home. Shaheen told Aaqib he can be selected for tests once the Champions Trophy is completed.”
