The summer transfer window continues to gather momentum as Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham push to strengthen their squads before the new season. The Gunners remain keen to reinforce their midfield, with Morgan Rogers their priority target despite Aston Villa's £130million valuation. A second bid for Bruno Guimaraes is also expected. Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott is an alternative target, while Bradley Barcola is said to have been scouted.

Tottenham have sensationally won the race to sign West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes, beating Manchester United with a club-record-smashing £85m bid. Spurs will now look to break their transfer record for the second time in a week by pursuing Newcastle star Sandro Tonali, who could cost close to £100m. United must now turn attentions elsewhere with Carlos Baleba, Felix Nmecha and Scott also of interest.

Chelsea remain determined to sign Granit Xhaka from Sunderland despite an opening £8m bid being rejected. The Blues are also negotiating for Maxence Lacroix and are close to completing a deal for Marco Palestra and Pep Chavarria. Tottenham finally acting like a big club with Fernandes deal

When the Lewis Family released a statement at the end of May saying they would invest in Tottenham’s playing squad, they also noted that actions speak louder than words.

At the time, that statement was met with skepticism by Spurs supporters after years of poor recruitment and successive 17th-place finishes.

However, as they close in on their fifth signing of a busy summer transfer window, with Mateus Fernandes set to undergo a medical ahead of a club-record £85million move, there can be no denying that Spurs’ owners have been true to their word.

Fernandes will join £52m man Jan Paul van Hecke, as well as free signings Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson, as part of Roberto De Zerbi’s rebuild, and it seems Spurs are not intent on stopping there.

Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali remains of interest to Spurs despite the imminent arrival of Fernandes, and the north London club appear comfortable with breaking their record transfer again to sign the 26-year-old.

Any deal for Tonali will likely take a fee in excess of £90m to complete, but De Zerbi wants Tonali and Fernandes to form the basis of his midfield revamp.

Man Utd explore 'dream signing' as new transfer shortlist revealed

Manchester United have reportedly lined up five alternative targets, including Alex Scott, after losing out on Mateus Fernandes to Tottenham.

Michael Carrick and INEOS have moved on quickly from the West Ham man, and are said to be turning attentions to Bournemouth’s Scott, Felix Nmecha of Borussia Dortmund and France star Aurelien Tchouameni.

Carlos Baleba of Brighton and Fulham’s Sander Berge are also on the Red Devil’s radar as they look to strengthen their midfield ahead of their return to Champions League football.

Scott is high on United’s list, according to Ben Jacobs, but the Cherries are extremely reluctant to sell as they look to instead extend the midfielder’s contract, which currently runs until 2028. They are said value Scott at around £80m.

Man Utd also retain interest in Baleba and Berge, while Sandro Tonali is appreciated but is in advanced talks over a move to Spurs.

Man United target Summerville

Crysencio Summerville is emerging as a serious target for Manchester United.

The left-winger is set to leave West Ham after their relegation and the Red Devils see him as a perfect replacement should Marcus Rashford depart, according to Sky Sports News.

Summerville scored twice for the Netherlands at the World Cup before the Oranje were eliminated by Morocco on Monday evening.

United are also stepping up their pursuit of a new midfielder, after seeing Mateus Fernandes opt for Spurs.

Liverpool confirm £60m Jaquet signing

Jeremy Jacquet has completed his £60m move from Rennes.

The defender, 20, completed his medical in January, but remained with the French side until the season’s end.

He will replace Ibrahima Konate, who signed for Real Madrid on the expiry of his contract.

Liverpool can also expect centre back Giovanni Leoni to return over the summer. The Italian signed last year but has been injured since September 2025.

Spurs inch closer to Tonali signing

Tottenham’s move for £100m Sandro Tonali is nearing completing, according to Italian press reports.

Despite Spurs’ imminent £85m signing of Mateus Fernandes, Roberto de Zerbi’s side are pushing to add Tonali to their midfield complement.

This is despite interest from Manchester City, who will complete a record-signing of their own with Elliot Anderson’s £116m move.

It is thought de Zerbi’s relationship has been a significant factor in securing the Italian’s signature.

PSG relax Barcola transfer stance amid Arsenal interest

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly relaxed their transfer stance on Bradley Barcola, amid reports Arsenal have scouted the France star at the World Cup.

The Gunners are said to have made Barcola a summer target as they look to sign a left winger, with Morgan Rogers and Christos Tzolis also high up Mikel Arteta’ wishlist.

Having initially ruled out any sale of Barcola, it is now being reported that the French giants could be tempted into selling for the right price.

The Athletic report that Barcola appears reluctant to sign a new deal as he looks to start more games next season.

But fresh reports now suggest that figures in excess of the £116m Manchester City paid for Elliot Anderson may be considered.

It comes following report by BBC Sport that Arsenal have received encouragement that a deal could be possible.

The same report adds that the Gunners planned to scout Barcola during France’s 3-0 win over Sweden, in which the winger scored Les Blues’ second goal.

Arsenal receive Trossard bid

Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard is attracting interest from Turkey.

The Belgium star is available to buy this summer, as the Gunners look to may room for the potential arrival of a new left winger. Morgan Rogers being the key target for Arsenal.

According to Turkish outlet Sporx, Besiktas have submitted a £17m bid for Trossard and are now waiting for Arsenal’s response.

Spurs not interested in Kolo Muani reunion

Former Tottenham loanee and French striker Randal Kolo Muani will not be returning to the club next season.

Kolo Muani, 28, scored five goals in all competitions for Spurs last season after joining on loan from PSG.

However, Italian press reports indicate the 32-cap France international is in talks with Juventus, who he was on loan with from January to May 2025.

The forward had a poor season in north London and was always unlikely to return under Roberto de Zerbi.

Turin is a far happier hunting ground for Kolo Muani, scoring 10 goals in 22 games for the Italian giants. It is unclear whether the deal would be for a loan or permanent signing.

Trossard undecided over £17m Turkey move

Leandro Trossard may be set to leave Arsenal, reports from Turkey suggest.

The Belgium forward is deemed surplus to requirements at the Premier League champions as they look to strengthen.

The Gunners have accepted a £17m bid from Turkish side Besiktas, but Trossard himself is yet to decide on the move.

The Belgian arrived at Arsenal in 2023 from Brighton for £20.6m and has scored 36 goals and provided 34 assists in 174 games in all competitions.

He is currently representing Belgium at the World Cup and has scored two goals in three games so far. They face Senegal in the round of 32 tonight.

Spurs want Tonali after completing £85m Fernandes deal

Tottenham are close to signing Mateus Fernandes from West Ham, but their transfer spree may not be done there.

With the Portuguese midfielder close to completing an £85m move, Roberto de Zerbi’s side also want Sandro Tonali from Newcastle.

The Italian may cost around £100m, but with a recent cash injection from owners the Lewis family, Spurs are set to strengthen even more.

The north London side have already bought Netherlands centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke for £52m, Andy Robertson, Martin Dubravka and Marcos Senesi - the latter three all on free transfers.

They have also given Antonin Kinsky a new five-year contract which - given Dubravka’s signing - heavily implies former no1 Guglielmo Vicario is available for transfer.

In attack, Spurs are also rumoured to be looking at Manchester City winger Savinho.
