This weekend sees county football finals in Fermanagh, Derry and Down, as well as the Antrim hurling final, take place.

In Derry, holders Newbridge take on Magherafelt for the title of county champions, with Magherafelt looking for their first title since 2019 and their seventh overall.

Newbridge defeated Sleacht Néill to keep their defence going, while Magherafelt disposed of Glen.

Down also sees the championship season come to an end, with Kilcoo clashing with Carryduff in Newry for the Frank O’Hare Cup.

The Magpies have won the last six Mourne county championships, with an impressive conveyor belt of talent coming through the club.

Carryduff are appearing in only their second ever Down showpiece, with the first ending in defeat to today’s opponents, Kilcoo.

In hurling, Antrim’s season comes to an end with the clash between St John’s and Loughgiel in a Belfast-Glens derby.

St John’s are hoping to break their 52-year drought in Antrim’s premier hurling competition in their first appearance in a final since 1994.

Loughgiel and St John’s last met in a Volunteer Cup decider in 1989, with Sean Paul McKillop winning man of the match that day as the Shamrocks won their 15th title on the way to an Ulster title, where they beat Portaferry in the final.
