India B defeated India A by 76 runs in the Duleep Trophy 2024 match in Bengaluru. Rishabh Pant played his first red-ball match after a long time.He was excellent behind the stumps and also contributed 61 runs in the second innings for India B. The southpaw was lively as a wicket-keeper and was involved in a hilarious conversation with his India and Delhi capitals teammate Kuldeep Yadav.With Kuldeep out in the middle as a batter, Pant tried to unsettle on Day four of the contest. In a mock conversation with his teammate, Pant discussed the plan to take Yadav’s wicket. Kuldeep was aware of Pant’s tactics and responded to him.“Let him take a single and I have a play to dismiss him,” Pant said. “It is ok man. Don’t take tension,” Kuldeep replied.“Then get out early,” Pant further said.Earlier, Pant had joined India A’s team hurdle to know the plans of the rivals as the side’s skipper Shubman Gill spoke to his players. Avesh Khan, the pacer of India A, saw Pant, and the two shared a laugh. Avesh played alongside Rishabh for the Delhi Capitals in the IPL.Pant has been selected in the India National Cricket Team for the first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai.
