Alexander Isak is set to be named in Sweden’s squad for their World Cup qualifiers next week despite the striker’s lack of football amid his summer-long stand-off with Newcastle United.Isak has refused to play for Newcastle this season and is likely to also miss Saturday’s game at Leeds United as he looks to force a move to Liverpool. However, he will be available to play for his country against Slovenia on September 5.The 25-year-old has doubled down on his position at Newcastle in recent days, telling senior figures at the club that he does not intend to play again for Eddie Howe’s side as he holds out for a move to Anfield. He downed tools before the start of the present campaign and his position has not changed despite a meeting on Monday afternoon with the Newcastle co-owner Jamie Reuben and members of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.
