Arsenal tonight welcome Atletico Madrid to town for a blockbuster Champions League clash.

The Gunners are looking to make it three wins from three in the League Phase so far, having seen off Athletic Club and Olympiacos, while Atleti thumped Eintracht Frankfurt last time out but, just a month ago, were in England narrowly losing to Liverpool.

It will be just the third time these two European giants have met, and Atleti have it all to do to triumph in north London. Arsenal are on a five-game winning streak across all competitions, and are looking for their 12th straight Champions League league phase or group-stage game at home without conceding a goal.

Arsenal are the third-favourites with bookmakers to win the Champions League this season. A statement win tonight will go a long way to cementing that status.

Captain Martin Odegaard remains out with a knee injury for an as-yet-undetermined period of time, joining Noni Madueke, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus on the sidelines.

This is unlikely to be a game full of goals, or even scintillating football. With two teams known more for their rearguard efforts than impressing at the other end of the pitch - even if Simeone’s side are not what they once were - we will likely be served up a game for the purists.

Arsenal will need more from an underwhelming Viktor Gyokeres, but their threats elsewhere will keep Jan Oblak & Co. plenty busy.
