Liverpool’s long-standing interest in RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande has intensified, with The Athletic reporting the 19-year-old is now a “leading transfer target.”With Mohamed Salah set to leave Anfield, Liverpool are looking to strengthen their wide options and have seemingly identified the Ivory Coast international as a priority target.AdvertisementLeipzig are keen to keep Diomande for another season and have strengthened their position by qualifying for the Champions League. However, an offer in excess of €100 million could tempt the Bundesliga side to part ways with their prized asset.Liverpool are just one of several suitors, though, with Diomande having been linked with a number of other European top clubs. At a media roundtable earlier this month, Bulinews.com asked the 19-year-old about the growing interest in him.“Of course, if you imagine someone saying you have to go to Chelsea or Real Madrid to do this job, you’re going to be happy and motivated to do more,” Diomande said.“But I don’t think about this kind of thing because I’m trying to be focused on the pitch. Because my job is playing football, I leave everything else outside the pitch. It gives me a lot of motivation to see clubs speak about me. I'm focused.”
