PCB quashes speculation over changes in Test and ODI captaincyThe reaction comes after reports suggest that Salman Agha to replace Rizwan as ODI skipperLAHORE (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has dismissed recent reports regarding changes in the national cricket team’s Test and One Day International (ODI) captains, calling them baseless and unfounded.A PCB spokesperson, said there is no truth to claims suggesting that Salman Agha will replace Mohammad Rizwan as ODI captain, or that Saud Shakeel is being considered to take over Test captaincy from Shan Masood.The spokesperson clarified that no such discussions have taken place within the selection committee, and no player’s central contract category has been changed either.The board urged fans and media to avoid speculation and rely only on official updates regarding team decisions.Earlier this month, the Men’s National Selection Committee announced Pakistan squads for the upcoming T20I tri-series and Asia Cup scheduled to take place in the UAE from 29 August to 28 September. The tri-series, featuring Afghanistan, Pakistan and UAE will be played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium from 29 August to 7 September.The eight-team ACC Asia Cup T20I tournament will be staged in Abu Dhabi and Dubai from 9 to 28 September.
