The Spurs captain was absent in Germany on Thursday evening as the north London club beat Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0 to progress to the final four with a 2-1 aggregate win.A regular in Ange Postecoglou's team, the South Korean remained behind in London due to a foot problem that he has been carrying for a few weeks now. Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Wednesday evening, the head coach outlined that Son had managed through the issue to play in recent weeks but it had become "too painful over the last few days" and he "just wasn't right" when attempting to train the previous day.Cristian Romero took on the captain's armband in Son's absence and delivered a colossal display at the back. Tottenham vice-captain James Maddison also had a key role to play in the victory prior to going off injured after winning the penalty that Dominic Solanke converted before half-time.With the vast majority of Tottenham players taking to social media after their quarter-final win, Son did likewise on his Instagram Stories. He wrote: "So, so proud all of you!! Well done!! Let's keep going."Guglielmo Vicario was another one of Tottenham's leaders to step up and help guide the team through to a semi-final showdown against Bodo/Glimt. TV cameras picked up on Vicario immediately sprinting over to the touchline come the final whistle as he took in the moment with Tottenham's coaching staff."It's hard to explain, I wanted to just enjoy the feeling," he said when speaking to SPURSPLAY. "I saw the staff hugging each other, so I went straight there because I think everyone here at this football club deserves this. This semi-final is a big achievement."I know the job is not done yet but we are in the semi-final of a big European competition that has meant a lot to this football club and for our fans. Now, we enjoy this moment and we will prepare for the semi-final in the next weeks."He added: "Every game is different, I know. For me, it's just a big pride to be the goalkeeper of this football club and to share the dressing room with these lads, with this manager and with the staff."It's a big pride for me, and now we've got this semi-final it's important now we keep everyone tuned in, we keep our group much stronger now because now we have the belief.
