Hobart Hurricanes:

It has been a complicated start for the Hobart Hurricanes to this season, they did win their opening game, but they were run close, but their second game saw them fail to show up as the Melbourne Stars put on an incredible display.

Ben McDermott has been the only batter from the Hurricanes to have found his touch and score runs, Owen has been rapid, but has not scored anywhere near enough runs while Riley Meredith and Nathan Ellis have had a tough start to the season with the ball.

Tim Seifert – the Kiwi was already enjoying quite a successful year in the format, and his 56 ball 102 only shoots him right into the limelight, having tallied almost half of what he scored all season last year, Seifert will want to make this season into a big one.

Jason Behrendorff – he remains an incredible operator at the Big Bash League, having taken 142 wickets in the competition at 19.28, and has yet to end a season with an average above twenty in his last five years.

Ben McDermott – the only batter from the Hurricanes to have displayed any semblance of form, McDermott has made 107 runs in two games, averaging 53.5 while striking at 140.78 in a new role in the middle order.

Rishad Hossain – the beanpole leg-spinner from Bangladesh has not had a massive opportunity with the bat yet, but with the ball, has impressed early, having taken two wickets in six overs at 25.5.

Nathan Ellis – it has been a tough two games for the captain, having taken just one wicket at 67 and has travelled at 9.57, but players of his quality can not be kept down for too long and he is due a good performance.
