Alex Eala reaches new career-high ranking at no. 56

Alex Eala is officially no. 56 in the Women's Tennis Association rankings.

The latest rankings was released on Sunday at the conclusion of the Eastbourne Open and just before the Wimbledon tournament opens on Monday.

Eala jumped 18 spots from her previous ranking of no. 74 after reaching the finals of the Eastbourne Open.

Her previous career-high was at no. 69 back in May.

Eala will face Wimbledon defending champion Barbora Krejcikova in the first round of the said Grand Slam tournament on Tuesday.
