Twitter Reaction to Pitt's Wild Loss in the GameAbove Sports Bowl

DETROIT — Pitt fell to Toledo in dramatic fashion Thursday afternoon, losing 48-46 in 6OT.

It was the longest bowl game in NCAA history, and the longest game in Pitt history, and it concluded the season with six straight losses.

Pitt played its third and fourth string quarterbacks against the Rockets, but it isn’t much of a consolation for many Pitt fans. There is a lot of anger and disappointment in the way the season came to an end in the GameAbove Sports Bowl at Ford Field in Detroit.

That was an embarrassment to the University of Pittsburgh! I honestly think next year will be a do or die Year for coach Narduzzi bcuz The new AD has no allegiance to him and another mediocre year could Doom him! https://t.co/fIcP6z6bjy — Tony Tennyson (@tony_tennyson) December 27, 2024

The GameAbove Sports Bowl featured an amazing announcer jinx of Pitt QB David Lynch from analyst Dustin Fox. pic.twitter.com/ohwR4bm1Z0 — Awful Announcing (@awfulannouncing) December 26, 2024

It’s not one decision or one game that is the problem. If Narduzzi doesn’t believe in his team to win a football game from inside the 1 yard line against TOLEDO(!!!!!), then he’s failed in building a football team that is up to the standard of what it should be. https://t.co/51XCXNWqRS — The Loyal Sons (@TheLoyalSons) December 27, 2024

Biggest takeaway for Pitt is that it has a legit QB2 for next year. Watched Julian Dugger during practices this season and he showed the raw talent. Finally had a chance to display that on the field. Pittsburgh kid with grit, can throw a great ball and fits the scheme. — Nathan Breisinger (@NateBreisinger) December 27, 2024

This is a post in appreciation of Desmond Reid who left it all out on the field this afternoon. @PittBorghetti pic.twitter.com/vWqYnDVPvW — Harry Bloomberg (@pittbandphoto) December 27, 2024
