Man City star Phil Foden breaks silence with three-word message after vile Man United chants

The England playmaker was subject to a vile chant from a section of Manchester United fans during Sunday afternoon's goalless draw at Old Trafford.

Man City star Phil Foden has fired a three-word message on social media.

Manchester City star Phil Foden has broken silence with a three-word message after vile chants about his mum during the derby clash against Manchester United. A group of United fans were heard singing an offensive chant targeting the England midfielder in the first half of a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford.

After the match, City manager Pep Guardiola condemned the behaviour as the Catalan stated all those involved should feel ashamed. "Lack of class," Guardiola said during his post-match press conference.

"But it's not [Manchester] United, it's the people, you know?"

"We are so exposed, people who are on the screen in world football - managers, owners, and football players especially. Honestly, I don't understand the mind of the people involving the mum of Phil. It's a lack of integrity, class, and they should be ashamed."

The 24-year-old Foden, who was booed by United supporters when he was substituted for Jeremy Doku in the 57th minute, took to Instagram post-match with a resilient message: "We keep going," he said.

Despite high expectations, Foden and his teammates have experienced a challenging season. The club's hugely-decorated academy star has netted 10 goals and provided six assists in 40 matches as City have faced difficulties when defending their fourth-straight Premier League title.
