PH U23 Men's Football Team books Asian Games ticket

The Philippine U23 Men's Football Team became the recent addition to the country's delegation for the 2026 Asian Games after clinching a berth to the quadrennial meet set for September in Japan.

The Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) confirmed this, meaning the country now has complete participation in the football tournament following the earlier qualification of the women's team.

With the men's football team's qualification, the Philippines' delegation has grown to 443 athletes—the country's largest contingent in eight editions of the Asian Games. POC added that this delegation could still go up to 700, including coaches and officials, as gymnastics is still confirming the qualification of five athletes.

The Philippines previously sent a record 524 athletes to the 1994 Hiroshima Games and 391 athletes to the Hangzhou edition in 2023.

The Philippines has yet to secure a podium finish in the football tournament of the Asian Games in either the men's or women's divisions.
