Virat Kohli continues to be the top draw wherever he goes as was evident in Australia where fans could be seen rushing to catch a glimpse of the India batting superstar.

Batting superstar Virat Kohli is set to make his long-awaited return to competitive cricket this Sunday when the first ODI of a three-match series between India and Australia will be held at Perth Stadium. Kohli last played any form of competitive cricket in June when he achieved his dream of winning IPL with Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Since then, he has been away from cricket, spending quality time with his family in London.

He recently landed in New Delhi where he linked up with the India ODI squad, led by Shubman Gill before the touring party left for the Australia tour in separate batches.

With the India players arriving in Australia on Thursday, the preparations for the white-ball matches is underway. Clips of India stars including Rohit Sharma and Kohli have been doing the rounds on social media.

A video shows fans rushing to catch a glimpse of Kohli to click selfie and get his autograph is going viral.

Kohli seemed more than happy to oblige the fans.

Both Kohli and Rohit have retired from Tests and T20Is and are now only available for ODIs. Speculations are rife over their international futures with the upcoming ODI series being hyped as their last on Australian soil.

Recently, India head coach Gautam Gambhir was quizzed over whether Kohli and Rohit remain part of team’s 2027 ODI World Cup plans.

Gambhir refused to speculate and instead is focusing on the present.

“Look, 50-over World Cup is still two-and-a-half years away, and I think it is very important to stay in the present. That is very important. Obviously, they are quality players, they are coming back, their experience is going to be a handful in Australia as well. Hopefully, those two guys will have a successful tour, and more importantly, as a team, we will have a successful series," Gambhir said.
