Eddie Howe press conference RECAP: Newcastle United boss gives Isak, Ramsey and Villa verdict

Premier League football is back, with Newcastle United getting what should be a momentous 2025-26 season under way this weekend with a trip to face Aston Villa.

The summer has been dominated by the transfer window, and with more than two weeks to go until it closes on September 1, that's not likely to change even with the return of the action on the pitch. Newcastle remain embroiled in a messy situation over Alexander Isak's future, with the Swedish striker unavailable for Saturday's lunchtime kick-off.

That will again be a big topic of conversation as Eddie Howe speaks to the media this morning, as well any potential signings, with Jacob Ramsey set to become their fourth addition of the window.
