Historic Women's World Cup final looms, but tickets still not on sale in Navi Mumbai

With just two days to go for the historic ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 final between India and South Africa, fans across the country are growing increasingly restless as tickets for the marquee clash are still not available for purchase. The title decider, set to be played on November 2 at the iconic D.Y. Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, promises to be one of the most significant events in women’s cricket — yet, as of October 31, bookings have not gone live.

On BookMyShow, the official ticketing partner for the event, the match listing continues to read “Coming Soon.” The delay has caused widespread frustration among supporters, many of whom have taken to social media to seek clarity. For several fans planning to travel to Navi Mumbai for the big game, the uncertainty over ticket availability has only added to the tension and anticipation surrounding the final.

Responding to a fan’s query on X (formerly Twitter), BookMyShow said:

“Hello there, we absolutely love your excitement & are just as thrilled to see you at the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025! Kindly stay tuned to our socials, the App &/ or the website, since the details about the same shall reflect in real-time as soon as the bookings go live.”

While the organisers have not provided an official reason for the delay, industry observers suggest the late release could be a deliberate move to deter resellers and black-market sellers, a persistent issue with major sporting events in India. By keeping the window between ticket release and match day short, the ICC and BookMyShow could be aiming to ensure that tickets reach genuine fans directly and at fair prices.

There is, however, a positive sign for fans — the BookMyShow listing indicates that ticket prices will start at 150 onwards, continuing the ICC’s commitment to accessible, affordable viewing. Earlier in the tournament, league-stage tickets were priced as low as 100 (around USD 1.14), a move widely praised for encouraging packed stands and bringing more spectators into the women’s game.

As India and South Africa prepare to battle for the ODI crown, fans eagerly await the ticket sales to open. The hope is that the gates to D.Y. Patil Stadium will soon welcome a sea of supporters ready to witness a landmark moment in women’s cricket history.
