Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho described their goalless draw against Manchester City as a "tough battle" with their focus turning to the Europa League quarter-final on Thursday.

The point for Ruben Amorim's side moved them to within 14 points of the European places going into the final seven games of the Premier League campaign.

Their attention turns to the midweek trip to France where they take on Lyon in the last-eight of the Europa League. The competition probably poses their best opportunity to secure qualification for European football next season.

Sunday's drab draw with City saw United register just two shots on target but it was a bright start from Garnacho who was brought down by Ruben Dias inside the opening seconds of the game.

Shortly after, he missed a golden opportunity after being stuck in two minds from a cross which meant he didn't get the desired contact to beat Ederson.

He reacted to the stalemate on social media, in a post on his Instagram story, he wrote: "Tough battle in the derby.

"Crazy battle at OT (Old Trafford) [fire emoji]. Full focus on Europe on Thursday."

Speaking before the draw, former Manchester United captain Roy Keane expressed his concerns over the Argentine's form.

"Garnacho, listen, recently there's been some huge question marks over him," the Irishman began. "He makes some good runs, he is a threat, try to run in behind but his end product has been so poor this year.

"Particularly in recent games, that's an area that if he wants to stay in this Manchester United team and get United competing towards the top - end product is key.

"We go back to even Foden, when they're fit, it's the end product, the final pass or actually getting a goal.

"Garnacho, again huge question mark. I was a big fan of him last year and thought he'd kick on but he hasn't kicked on yet."
