Cole Palmer to Man Utd could be on as Chelsea told of transfer condition

Cole Palmer 'will definitely go to Manchester United' in the future, according to a former Chelsea star, raising more questions about the Englishman's future at Stamford Bridge. Palmer left Manchester in 2023 in a £42.5million move from City, but despite spending 13 years on the Blue half of the City, he is a lifelong United supporter.

Rumours did spread earlier this year that Palmer was struggling with homesickness and wanted to move back from London, but the club quickly denied that there was no truth to the reports. But after a miserable finish to the season, which saw Chelsea fail to qualify for any European competition, speculation has arisen again.

Now, William Gallas suggests that if Palmer enjoys another outstanding campaign at Stamford Bridge, a transfer to United would likely follow.

"I don't think Cole Palmer will go right now. I don't think it's time to go right now," the former France international told iPredicta.

"He will definitely go to Manchester United in the future if he's a big fan, if he's got a dream to play for Man United, he will definitely go there, but right now I don't think so."

"I think he needs to have one more big season as he did two years ago, before he got his injury problem, then he might move."

Gallas' claim comes after United's new signing, Andrey Santos, disclosed he received a message from Palmer upon completing his switch to Old Trafford.

The Brazilian has penned a five-year deal, with United paying an initial £48m fee, with £2m in add-ons to Chelsea.

Santos was eager to depart Stamford Bridge in pursuit of more consistent first-team football and revealed: "I'm so excited to be here.

"So pleased. I got a message from Cole [Palmer], he sent a message because he was born here [Manchester], so he knows everything here.

"He said all the best for you, for your career, you deserve this, a lot of things. So I'm so excited to be here in Manchester with my new teammates."
