Bo Nix and Patrick Mahomes Return for Monday Night Football

The Kansas City Chiefs host the Denver Broncos on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 8:15 p.m. ET at Arrowhead Stadium, marking the return of starting quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Bo Nix from major injuries.

The Week 1 matchup on ESPN features Kansas City entering as a 2.5-point favorite with an over/under line of 42.5. Both franchises are seeking a rebound following physical setbacks during their previous campaigns.

Mahomes returns after suffering a torn ACL and LCL against the Broncos on Dec. 14 of last year, while Kansas City missed the postseason for the first time in his era following a 6-11 season.

Nix makes his regular-season return after fracturing his right ankle during Denver's AFC divisional round game against the Buffalo Bills on Jan. 17, which halted a 14-3 campaign where Denver won the AFC West.

Addressing questions regarding whether his recovery from multiple procedures would prompt a more cautious approach on the field, the Denver quarterback rejected any change in playstyle.

The third-year signal-caller reinforced his intentions to maintain his mobility during media availability in early August.
