Predicted Manchester United XI to face Aston Villa

Manchester United take on Aston Villa in the final Premier League game of the season.

After a disappointing performance and result in the Europa League final, Manchester United turn their attention towards Premier League matchday 38 as Aston Villa visit Old Trafford.

Unai Emery’s side still has something to play for after securing European football for a third consecutive season. They could still qualify for the Champions League if results go their way.

Meanwhile, United will have no European football next season as they’re destined to finish in the bottom half of the table following a season of disappointment.

The Red Devils could make wholesale changes in their final league game of the season. Ruben Amorim has already ruled Leny Yoro out of the game after picking up a knock in United’s 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in Bilbao on Wednesday night.

The United head coach is likely to make changes against Villa, looking to give more experience to his younger players.

How Manchester United could line-up vs Aston Villa

After a dire campaign, with United losing 18 league matches, Amorim will want his players to win their final game in front of the Old Trafford faithful.

It’s also an opportunity for some players to make their final appearance for the club in a competitive competition, ahead of next week’s post-season tour in Asia.

Here is how we predict United will line up against Aston Villa in the final game of the season.

Goalkeeper

It has been another challenging season for first-choice goalkeeper Andre Onana, but the Cameroon international will keep his place against Villa.

Defence

Harry Maguire and Noussair Mazraoui could be joined in a back three by youngster Tyler Fredricson. Meanwhile, Diogo Dalot and Patrick Dorgu will start as wing-backs.

Midfield

Amorim will want to freshen things up in midfield, which could mean a recall for both Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo. The attacking midfield roles should be given to Amad Diallo and Bruno Fernandes as United must build around those players.

Striker

United’s teenage forward Chido Obi should get a start. Rasmus Hojlund appears to be getting worse with each game, and it’s too soon for Joshua Zirkzee to start games after returning early from injury to make the Europa League final.
