In a video that has been circulating on social media, former India offspinner Harbhajan Singh is involved in a deep conversation with former Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal during the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2024 match between India Champions and Pakistan Champions. The match was played at Edgbaston, Birmingham.

Both the former cricketers were seen having a chat with each other after the match. In the video, Harbhajan Singh is explaining something to Kamran Akmal in an animated manner while the latter is also listening patiently. However, it is not clear which topic these two are talking about.

What is the controversy?

A few days ago, Kamran Akmal had made a controversial statement on Pakistan's local TV show about the Sikh community. He made this comment while referring to India's left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh, who is also a Sikh, during India's group stage fixture against Pakistan in New York.

While reacting to Kamran Akmal's comment, Harbhajan Singh had lashed out at his Pakistani counterpart on social media and advised him to gain more knowledge about the Sikh community.

"Lakh di laanat tere Kamraan Akhmal.. You should know the history of sikhs before u open ur filthy mouth. We Sikhs saved ur mothers and sisters when they were abducted by invaders, the time invariably was 12 o’clock . Shame on you guys.. Have some Gratitude," Harbhajan had posted on X (formerly Twitter).

However, Kamran Akmal later apologized to Harbhajan Singh and the whole Sikh community for his shameful comments. He also added that he never intends to hurt the sentiments of any Sikh.

"I deeply regret my recent comments and sincerely apologize to @harbhajan_singh and the Sikh community. My words were inappropriate and disrespectful. I have the utmost respect for Sikhs all over the world and never intended to hurt anyone. I am truly sorry," Kamran Akmal replied on X.

Pakistan Champions beat India Champions

Coming to the match, Pakistan Champions defeated India Champions by 68 runs to win their third straight game of the tournament. Kamran Akmal, Sharjeel Khan, and Sohaib Maqsood scored blistering half-centuries to help Pakistan post a mammoth 243-4 on the board.

In reply, India Champions could score just 175-9 in 20 overs. Suresh Raina scored a half-century while Ambati Rayudu and Robin Uthappa also made useful contributions.

This tournament is played between retired cricketers from six countries, India, Australia, England, Pakistan, South Africa, and the West Indies.
