Rising Dragons NRL star Loko Pasifiki Tonga rushed to hospital after suspected neck injury at training

In a scary blow for the Dragons rising forward Loko Pasifiki Tonga has been taken to Wollongong hospital for precautionary scans after he suffered a neck injury at training.

Code Sports reported Pasifiki Tonga was running the football during a session on Thursday and remained on the ground after an ordinary tackle.

The 20-year-old star, who was on an extended bench for the Dragons’ clash with the Eels on Sunday, indicated a potential neck issue.

The Dragons took the precautionary measures with an ambulance transporting Pasifiki Tonga

to hospital where he will undergo further scans.

Pasifika Tonga scored one try in 10 games after making his NRL debut last year, but has been unable to play first grade yet this season.

“St George Illawarra Dragons forward Loko Pasifiki Tonga was taken to hospital for precautionary scans following a suspected neck injury sustained at training today,” the club said in a statement.

“He was conscious and communicating with medical staff at all times.

The club will provide an update on his condition once further information becomes available.”
