Northants announce £487k pre-tax profit

Northamptonshire have announced pre-tax profit of almost £487,000 for the year ending 31 January 2026.

In a statement, Northants revealed their £486,740 profit was "enhanced" by a £413,333 payment from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) arising from "certain host counties selling all or part of their interest in their respective Hundred franchises".

A directors' report stated gate revenues remained "resilient", supported by a run to finals day in the 2025 T20 Blast.

"The injection provided by the Hundred monies has given us a financial platform on which to plan," wrote the club's chair Gary Hoffman.

"Albeit that Northamptonshire's relevance in the domestic structure continues to be challenged by The Hundred competition.

"This long-term plan has enabled us to make choices on and off the field with more confidence, and we have invested responsibly to compete in all formats and in facilities."

Chief executive Ray Payne said: "2025 should be viewed as another successful year for the club, both on and off the field.

"The appointment of Darren Lehmann as our men's head coach, together with David Ripley as head coach of the newly formed Steelbacks Women, has strengthened our cricket leadership, and I am confident that greater success on the field will follow."

Northants' statement comes after the club announced in May that it had agreed to purchase Brixworth Cricket Club's ground for its academy and women's and disabled teams.

The club have resided at the County Ground in Abington since 1886.
