T20 World Cup 2022 Updated Points Table on 26 Oct after ENGvsIRE and NZvsAFG Match: Ireland shocked England in the first fixture at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) while the second fixture of the day got called off as rain became the ultimate champion at the end on 26th October. The DLS method was brought to use during England vs Ireland match as the rain began to pour midway through England’s batting (2nd innings). Ireland had posted a total of 157 runs in 19.2 overs. England during the start of the downpour were at 105 runs in 14.3 overs, which unfortunately was 5 runs behind the par score as per the DLS rule. The match officials, following a long delay due to rain, decided to call it the day and Ireland won the match by 5 runs owing to the DLS method.

The second fixture of the day, at MCG, was abandoned as once again rain become the ultimate winner between New Zealand and Afghanistan. Not even the toss could take place due to persistent rain at the MCG. The points were shared between the two teams, making the upcoming fixtures of Group 1 more interesting and of higher stake for all the teams.
